Contemporary Ink and Oil Reflections
Transforming ordinary scenes into quiet philosophical meditations through Chinese ink on rice paper and oil on canvas.
Maurice Chan Art Gallery presents the works of Singapore-based artist Maurice Chan, whose paintings explore the quiet emotional landscape of modern existence. Working in both oil and Chinese ink, Chan creates expressive compositions that reflect on solitude, memory, and the search for meaning in contemporary life. His art invites viewers to pause, reflect, and find a moment of consolation amid the complexities of the world. Inspired by philosophy, literature, and personal experience, Chan’s works transform melancholy into a space for empathy and contemplation.
车厢 In the bus
Strangers sit together, each convinced of a chosen destination, yet no one recalls why they boarded or who set the route. The bus becomes a vessel of fate, raising the uneasy question: do we steer our lives, or are we merely carried along?
幽径 Passage
A small hidden path — less a road through space than a passage through memory.
